One of the most unneccesary sequels imaginable, OCEAN'S TWELVE offers the very real pleasure of watching a staggering array of A-list talent at play. The story goes that Clooney and Pitt and Damon were to the Amsterdam hash houses what Sinatra, Martin, and Davis Jr. were to the Vegas gin joints. Sigh. The fun they had in production spills onto the screen, except that there is actually more intelligence on display here than there was in the original film. It's sometimes confusing and told out of temporal sequence, this film of high-stakes theives forced to pull a job just to pay off a lethal debt is really terrific fun, and a quality waste of time.
Give it a B, but that's a really solid "B".
