That's interesting. I've only heard the term "Cougar" used to apply to women who date much younger men, much as the term "Chicken Hawk" is often used to describe men who date much younger women. By broadening this term to relate to any powerful woman, methinks the author is setting up a straw man argument.

"Cougar" and "Chicken Hawk" have predatory connotations I don't understand. I fail to see what's predatory or necessarilly aggressive about older people seeking younger mates. I just might be that the younger party is aggressively pursuing the older. IMHO, it's best to dispense with nonsensical pejorative terms that may only serve to mislabel or stigmatize.
