A real oddity, a black exploitation movie with a white star. Director John Singleton delivers a few genuinely exciting moments (including a dynamite car chase) in this tale of four foster brothers (two white and two black) whose foster mother is murdered. Their search for justice is predictable but well done in a "Death Wish" sort of way, and Mark Wahlberg as the family badass is quite good. But that racial dynamic was clearly to pull in an audience, and I think it works pretty well. Overall certainly no classic, but I might even see it again...that car chase was great. A "B"
