Most internet marketing gurus make money teaching people to be internet marketing gurus. Isn't this a kind of Ponzi scheme?

Technically it's not a Ponzi scheme, but it is a racket.

A Ponzi scheme is characterized by paying returns from future investments rather then from actual earnings (of course there is a falsified record of high returns to justify the payouts). Everyone is happy until the returns just get too big to keep rolling forward or more then a few people start pulling money, which isn't there, out of the investment.
