Ah, the year has started well. Had a great time at Angela Bassett's New Years Day party. She and her husband Courtney Vance are gracious and enthusiastic hosts, and a good time was had by all. Tananarive got hit on by a well-known television and movie star (whose wife was not amused!) and Nicki got hugged by one of her favorite actors. Life is good. I feel like our adventure in Southern California is off to an excellent start.
As is the New Year.
How about you? How many of you have clearly defined WRITTEN goals for the new year, along with plans for their accomplishment? This is a magical process, and if you haven't done it, do it. "Thinking" about your goals isn't enough. WRITE THEM DOWN. Make them balanced: body, mind, spirit. I would say a 50% improvement in each major area is completely realistic---that's just one percent improvement per week! (Actually less, allowing for compounded interest...)

Then, when you take your 60-second breaks at 9, 12, 3, 6, and 9, just visualize that triangle. As you continue to do this, your subconscious will convert it into what I call a "complex equivilent"--a simple symbol representing a myriad of factors. The color, size, clarity, etc. of your triangle will begin to represent your internal states, and you will instinctively begin to move in the direction of health and balance, often in ways you don't even understand!
Let THIS be the year you get started! Write those goals down! Start talking to your heart, and your partner. Re-connect with your body! Make 2005 the best year ever.
